Beloved God, we ask for your guidance as we work together during this time of vacancy: guidance to love and encourage one another; and guidance to draw to us the person that is right for us to join us in Ministry and lead our communities of Wincanton, Pen Selwood, Cucklington, Stoke Trister, Bayford & Charlton Musgrove. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
We are holding a DAY OF PRAYER for our vacancy on SATURDAY 12TH APRIL in church. Come along and spend half an hour in personal worship, peace and reflection, or commit to praying at home, for our new Rector, our Benefice Churches, the Church Councils, the Churchwardens and all who are involved in the interview process. You may already know the prayers you want to say, but just in case you’d like some Prayer Pointers:-
- Pray for all who will apply for the post of Rector – that there will be a good response to the advertisement in the Church press and that our new Priest will be among those who apply.
- Pray that our new priest will hear God’s call to this Benefice and will find in us a place of love, friendship and support both for them and those they love
- Pray for a good shepherd to guide us and to love us and the communities in which we live and to help us grow in faith
- Pray for the shortlisting and interview panels – guide each member with wisdom in their decision making
- Pray that we will be gifted with clear sight and a willingness to help our churchwardens and PCCs at this time, so that they are assured of our love and support.
- Pray that we will grow in spiritual commitment and service
Loving God, as we journey through this period of vacancy, we thank you for your everlasting faithfulness to us. Please gift us with new life and increased love, hope and faithfulness as together we serve you and our communities both in this period of waiting and far into the future. Amen.
Our regular prayer pointers are as follow:-
- We pray for our interregnum and for the future of our churches coming together with our neighbouring parishes of Cucklington with Stoke Trister and Bayford and Charlton Musgrove.
- We pray for His Majesty King Charles III and Her Royal Highness, Catherine, Princess of Wales both undergoing treatment for cancer.
